"Nexus" can refer to a linked group or series, and to the core or centre of a situation. It can also have specific references to cell biology and interconnections in nature. This concept was the starting point for puzzling together an experimental group where each section could stand alone, but was also essential to the group. This was a playful opportunity for the artist to experiment with layering, masking and textures in acrylics, masking simple shapes to open spaces and reveal what lies underneath.
