I interrupted work on other projects, when it was time to dig up all of the dahlia tubers. There were flowers in the studio for one last time before winter, so I painted a portrait with two of them - a giant white dinner plate dahlia, and one "Mystic Illusion" dahlia hybrid!
This was also the last day I saw some bees out working in the garden. Everything seemed so quiet after they were gone, but more will return in the spring.
